Wilfrid Laurier University is a university based in Waterloo, Ontario, offering a wide range of academic studies. The university is particularly renowned for its strong business and economics programs, including its extensive business co-op program in Canada, as well as its emphasis on both traditional and experiential learning opportunities.

As the General Contractor, MARANT Construction managed the ground-level fit-out of Wilfrid Laurier’s Laurier Milton Academic Centre (LMAC), renovating the Centre’s private offices, meeting rooms, classrooms, and restrooms. 

New flooring, drywall partitions, operable partitions, paint finishes, lighting updates, HVAC ductwork, and doors were installed, restrooms were outfitted with new plumbing fixtures and accessories, and classrooms received new whiteboards.

The coordination of structural modifications was vital during the project to support the installation of new rooftop units, heat pumps, and energy recovery ventilators (ERVs). The facility sprinkler system was upgraded, and data and communication connections were carefully integrated with security operations to enhance safety and functionality throughout the space.

The MARANT team worked diligently to adhere to a critical schedule while maintaining a high level of quality, despite the tight timeline of the project. The completed LMAC is now a functional and contemporary space for Laurier-Milton students to complete their academic studies.
