MARANT Project Recognized Among 2025 Best of Canada Award Winners
TORONTO – JULY 24, 2025 – Canadian Interiors has recognized the University of Toronto’s Master of Mathematical Finance department as a winner of the 2025 Best of Canada Awards in the Institutional category.
Located at 700 University Avenue in Toronto, BORTOLOTTO Design Architect Inc. thoughtfully designed the educational and collaborative hub, with their team skillfully blending modern aesthetics with functionality.
MARANT Construction served as the General Contractor for this project, working in close collaboration with BORTOLOTTO and the University of Toronto. Through effective communication and a shared commitment to quality, we helped bring the Master of Mathematical Finance’s vision of innovation and academic excellence to life. Ultimately, we delivered a space designed to inspire learning and achievement.
Notable features of the space include the elegantly curved walls that create a dynamic and fluid environment, glass partitions that enhance transparency and allow natural light to flow through, and advanced audiovisual (AV) systems that are seamlessly integrated to support a variety of teaching and learning formats.
According to Canadian Interiors, the project was remarkable for its “much in little” space design, the integration of high-tech learning with spaces for collaboration and socialization, the wide use of large expanses of glass, and exposed concrete columns that add a striking element to the open, smooth-moving space.
Having this project selected by a panel of design leaders and industry experts for its pinnacle of interior design, excellence, creativity, and a progressive approach across various fields is incredibly fulfilling for everyone involved. This recognition holds special significance, particularly given the challenges we faced during the construction process.
MARANT successfully managed construction within an active university building, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations throughout the construction period. When schedules changed, our team adapted by keeping the project on track, rather than halting work. This approach allowed us to accelerate completion without compromising quality.
Through BORTOLOTTO’s comprehensive design, the University of Toronto’s clear communication, and our proactive approach, we delivered a high-quality space that meets the evolving needs of the University of Toronto’s students and faculty members.
Thank you to Canadian Interiors for the Best of Canada Award and to the design leaders and industry experts who selected the University of Toronto’s Master of Mathematical Finance department as one of the winners for the Institutional category.
