MARANT Completes Ivey Business School’s Donald K. Johnson Centre
TORONTO, ON – May 6, 2026 – MARANT Construction is proud to announce the completion of Ivey Business School’s Donald K. Johnson Centre. The new Centre officially opened on April 23rd in downtown Toronto with more than 150 leaders from across business, government, academia, and the Ivey community in attendance.
The opening day ceremony marked a significant milestone in Ivey’s history, made possible through a transformational $30 million gift from Ivey alumnus Donald K. Johnson. The new facility is located within First Canadian Place and strengthens Ivey’s long-standing presence in Toronto’s financial district.
As Construction Manager, MARANT worked alongside project partners Colliers and GOW Hastings Architects to deliver the interior fit-out of the Centre. The space was transformed into a modern, high-performance learning environment designed to support executive education, graduate programs, and corporate engagement.
Delivered within an active commercial tower, the project required careful coordination of logistics, sequencing, and stakeholder management to minimize disruption to surrounding tenants while keeping the project moving forward.
The Donald K. Johnson Centre includes technology-enabled tiered classrooms, breakout rooms, collaborative spaces, and a 300-person event venue, significantly expanding Ivey’s capacity for experiential learning and leadership programming in Toronto.
MARANT is proud to have contributed to a landmark project that supports Ivey Business School’s continued growth and meets the needs of the modern business leader. The Centre reinforces Ivey’s role in shaping business leadership in Canada and beyond, creating a space for connection, learning, and impact.
