MARANT for MANKIND Raises Over $250,000 for the Ride to Conquer Cancer

TORONTO, ON – June 12, 2024 – This past weekend, the MARANT for MANKIND team proudly participated in the 17th annual Ride to Conquer Cancer, raising over $250,000 to support the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. This year’s ride saw the team of over 40 riders braving the elements, cycling hundreds of kilometres in a two-day journey that tested their physical endurance and highlighted their collective spirit and determination.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer is Canada’s largest and most impactful cycling fundraiser. It draws participants nationwide to pedal towards a common goal—conquering cancer. Thousands of riders gear up yearly, and all proceeds benefit the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Since the inception of the first Ride in 2008, MARANT for MANKIND has been a dedicated participant, contributing nearly $3 million over the years to this vital cause. After this year’s ride, the team, well-known for their unwavering commitment to the fight against cancer, brought their cumulative fundraising total to nearly $3.25 million.

“We are incredibly proud of our team’s dedication and the overwhelming support from every one of our donors,” said Gino Vettoretto, co-captain of MARANT for MANKIND. “Every dollar raised brings us closer to breakthroughs in cancer research and enhances treatment and care provided at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.”

First-time rider Rakesh Bhandari shared his personal connection to the cause: “This ride is especially important to me, having lost my uncle to cancer this past November. Participating in this ride on the MARANT for MANKIND team has inspired me to act for him and others facing similar struggles. It’s about honouring loved ones we’ve lost and fighting for those still battling. Cancer is something that unfortunately impacts all of us.”

The success of MARANT for MANKIND this year is a testament to the power of community and the impact that dedicated individuals can make in the fight against cancer. The team extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the donors, supporters, and volunteers who made this achievement possible. As MARANT for MANKIND looks forward to future rides, their commitment remains steadfast: to ride, fundraise, and conquer cancer.
