On this extremely dynamic project with very challenging timelines, MARANT’s team was flexible enough to adapt to any obstacle and they got the job done on time.

Scott Dorion V.P. of Real Estate, Aviva Canada

MARANT was retained as the construction manager for Aviva’s new downtown office project at the iconic First Canadian Place. The client wanted to breakaway from tradition in order to create a contemporary space that caters to the needs and wishes of its 21st century workforce, while also maintaining the brand’s culture as an innovator and forward thinking insurance group.

The work environment is comprised of open area and an assortment of tech-supported formal and informal meeting spaces, phone rooms, and collaborative lounges which all surround the building core. Dubbed the ‘Digital Garage,’ the design celebrates a raw aesthetic (open ceilings) while also being technologically advanced, allowing staff to be mobile and work from anywhere within the facility. New furnishings mixed with unique pieces, such as a repurposed shipping container for meetings, helps reinforce the creative and eccentric office facility. The team achieved a fresh look and feel within budget, while maintaining the firm’s overall brand essence and moving them in on time despite an aggressive schedule.
