MARANT Construction was chosen as the General Contractor to oversee Stantec’s Ottawa office expansion, renovating the 2nd floor of their existing workspace to accommodate their need for more space.
The scope of the in-situ renovation included a new kitchen and cubicle office area, private offices with demountable partitions, installation of phone booths, floor finish alterations, and numerous upgrades to lighting. A striking feature of the space is the addition of specialty ceiling treatments above the newly renovated kitchen, which create a wood-slat-like ceiling to support improved acoustics and usability of the space.
Stantec made it a priority to incorporate sustainable practices throughout the project. MARANT incorporated these sustainable measures in construction sequence by reusing Stantec’s existing demountable partitions and integrating them into the new space, rather than disposing of them. Overall, MARANT demonstrated its ability to cater to Stantec’s needs and priorities, providing Stantec with high-quality results in its newly expanded workspace.
