MARANT was selected as Blakes’ construction manager early in the design phase and, as part of the consulting team, participated in the strategic planning phase, including: budget estimating, scheduling, value engineering and the tendering approach. Although the Toronto project is much larger in scale, MARANT also completed a construction management project for Blakes LLP – Ottawa for approximately 8,000 sf to similar design standards.

The Toronto project was a large leasehold improvement project which relocated Blakes from their existing floors at the Commerce Court West, to newly constructed floors within the tower (floors 32 to 40). The construction consisted of multiple practice floors with exterior private offices, a library, a conference centre floor, multiple meeting rooms and pass through serveries on each floor. New furniture was installed and the tenant moved into their new floors, in phases, over a 6 week period.
