Case Study
Kawasaki
The project was designed and constructed as a “design-build” process wherein the complete consulting team was assembled and put forward with the design proposal from the architect. The existing building envelope was totally redesigned from its original concrete pre-cast exterior to a modern, stylized design that more closely reflected the brand. The transformation process included re-cladding over the exterior concrete walls using tinted glass panels, dramatic building signage, landscaping and parking to create a visitor-friendly facility. An oversized garage entrance to accommodate the vehicle transport trucks was also constructed.
The project required significant base building structural modifications to create an office mezzanine level overlooking a new showroom, as well as a more dramatic entry door to the facility. Unique to this project was the construction of a new computer room and a specialized R & D motorcycle safety test room needed to house a proprietary “Dyno Machine.”
