Sun Life Financial is known for being a leading provider of financial services, particularly in individual life and health insurance, group benefits, and group retirement services. They are also recognized for their wealth management solutions and for helping Canadians achieve lifetime financial security.

The goal for Sun Life Financial’s office space was to implement innovative design concepts and major technology upgrades to create an updated, modern workplace unlike any other insurance company.

The space was constructed using furniture walls, interactive “Digital Canvas” walls, and significant IT and audio-visual components throughout the floors. The raised access floor made a largely open plan environment possible, complete with alternative style meeting rooms and support amenities.

The 34th floor conference and reception facility features double height ceilings with numerous SkyFold partitions, a wraparound deck, and a commercial grade kitchen. The project was completed in tranches, with two floors turned over every two weeks until total completion.

Managing the sheer number of people who needed to touch this project from Sun Life’s perspective, as well as the consultants and sub-trades was a daunting task. MARANT’s team did an amazing job of managing the process to keep the project moving forward and on schedule.
