The University of Toronto’s Master of Mathematical Finance (MMF) program is known for its strong reputation as a top-ranked quantitative finance program, particularly in Canada. It’s recognized for its rigorous curriculum, hands-on experience through internships, and its strong connections to the financial industry in Toronto, which is Canada’s financial capital.

In collaboration with the University of Toronto and Bortolotto, MARANT Construction delivered the new Master of Mathematical Finance department at 700 University Avenue. Designed as both an educational and collaborative hub, the space blends modern aesthetics with functionality, featuring elegantly curved walls that create a dynamic and fluid environment, glass partitions that enhance transparency and allow natural light to flow through, and advanced audiovisual (AV) systems that are seamlessly integrated to support a variety of teaching and learning formats. The design reflects the department’s commitment to innovation and excellence, providing a sophisticated space that inspires academic achievement.

As the General Contractor on the project, MARANT successfully navigated the complexities of working within an active university building while ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations. When faced with shifting schedules, our team adapted by keeping the majority of the project moving forward rather than pausing work, accelerating completion without compromising quality. Through strategic coordination and a proactive approach, MARANT delivered a high-quality space that meets the evolving needs of the University of Toronto students and faculty.
